PRECISION TESTING METHODS WITH HELIUM OR HYDROGEN
Vacuum + Helium Spray Testing
The part is evacuated using a leak detector or pump. When a sufficient vacuum level is achieved, we spray helium around the part. If a leak is present, the Helium will travel through the part and into the leak detector, where the leak rate is measured and documented.
Hard Vacuum Testing
The product is filled with either Helium or Hydrogen and placed in an evacuated vacuum chamber. The chamber is connected to the leak detector which will be able to detect any Helium leaking from the part.
Helium / Hydrogen Sniff Testing
After pressurizing the part under test with Helium or Hydrogen, we use a sniffer probe to detect and pinpoint the location of leaks. The sniffer probe is connected to a leak detector where the sampled air is analyzed.
Accumulation Testing
The product is pressurized with Helium or Hydrogen and placed in an accumulation chamber at atmospheric pressure. The chamber environment is analyzed for a rise in tracer gas signal, which indicates a leak is present.
